Duties
Basic Function of the Position: The position is located in the Library Of Congress (LOC) office, American Centre, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi. The New Delhi office of the Library of Congress administers the South Asia Cooperative Acquisitions Program (SACAP) whereby it acquires additional copies for 58 North American, British & Canadian university libraries of publications. Materials are physically received in the Receiving unit of the Management Services Division. The annual volume processed is approximately 100,000 pieces in 24 languages from 22 book dealers, ten Bibliographic Representatives in India, Bhutan, and the Maldives, as well as the LOC Country Representatives in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Incumbent must ensure that the additional copies received for SACAP participants are identical to the ones ordered; are received in correct quantities and perfect condition; every accompanying invoice is correct; paperback editions are bound as per established specifications; materials are temporarily and securely stored; retrieved when appropriate, and forwarded for shipping to the correct participant. S/he will work independently to manage the large volume of the workflow by continually coordinating, evaluating, and reviewing priorities on a continuing basis. The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires two years of work experience in a library or publisher or book environment.

Education Requirements:
This position requires the successful completion of two years of college studies.

The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
